Lipper Fund Award 2014 - Finding Out The Consistent Winners!

The 2014 Annual Lipper's Award which recognizes the best performing funds as well as fund houses was announced on the 18th of February 2014. Yes yes...I am aware that the news should be stale by now.....especially in terms of the results.

However I believe some of the historical data I am offering in this post with regards to the Lipper's Fund Award might help you to seek out funds that have been consistently proving themselves to be true Winners, year after year!

For the 2014 Lipper's Award, a total of 43 individual awards were given out, making it the highest in the history of this event. Public Mutual was once again the biggest winner for 2014 garnering 10 awards, followed by CIMB with 8 awards. Hwang, MAAKL and RHB Asset Management managed to obtain 4 individual awards each. Meanwhile Eastspring, Kenanga and Apex Investments Services each had 3 awards. 

The breakdown of awards won according to fund houses are as shown below:

To me, the number of awards won by a fund house does not really matter when it comes to deciding which fund house to invest in. 

What matter's most about Lipper Fund Award winners is to determine what are the funds that have consistently remain as winner year after year after year!

Now if you take a look at the table below, I've listed out the winners of the Lipper's Award from 2012 till 2014. 

In addition, if a fund has won the same category for 2 years in a row, the fund would be highlighted YELLOW. If a fund has won the same category for 3 years in row! then the fund would be highlighted GREEN.
